About Jay Rooftop: 9th Floor B
Originally constructed in 1915, this building was created as a factory for the Grand Union Tea Company (also known as the Jones Brothers Tea company). One of the oldest chain store companies in the country, this factory once shipped over 32 million pounds of coffee and 4 million pounds of tea each year. This building is a perfect example of Daylight Factory with Transitional American Round Arch Style Elements, and still boasts both the Grand Union Tea Company logo and the Jones Brothers Company logo in the first floor lobby. Situated directly next to the Manhattan Bridge, this is the third level of Jay Rooftop spaces. As such, Jay Roof: 9B provides a long, beautiful view of the Manhattan Bridge, the Brooklyn Skyline and even some parts of the Manhattan Skyline as well.
